Right just fitted my new wiiliams lump...

runni8ng with valver Ecu

starts runs fine...

took her for a drive yesterday down some private road.... fine no worries...

today... she does not like full throttle at all!?

Stutters and misses and sounds genreally bad!

I HAD exactly the same problem with my last engine! exactly!

now as my soldering mate STILL hassnt done my gunner chip iam using ANOTHER phase 1 ecu. a valver item.

I have changed the lamda and have a spare TPS? could it be this(tps)?

Or is it obviously the ECU?

MOT is wednesday?! will a 1.8 ecu affect my emmishions? (yes i know its a silly question?)

Off the top of my head: Coolant temp sensor, ECU, crank sensor, MAP sensor, blocked exhaust, earths, coil, dizzy, HT leads or its skipped a few teeth on the cam pulleys and timing is out.

this evening i will b changing all sensors on the thernmostat housing, and the tps and throttle body.

and hopefully the dizzy should it arrive on time,


Wobba:- Have changed the :Crank Sensor, exhaust is perfect no blockages, no leaks, have checked all earths, and HT leads are new also this is another 1.8 ecu and im still having the same problem

anybody know rough prices on map sensor and coil pack?

as your running a valver ecu can i assume it has the std valver chip if so im sure it will not be fueling correctly so that may not help
not something daft like a spark plug breaking down under load?
Talk to Leigh Anne she has a spare coil pack i let her have yesterday

If it's a valver EPROM on the ECU than no, it's not going to run right, but it will run. Different map for a different engine. Ask others who have done it what the symptoms are.

Has new plugs, standerd phase 1 valver ecu,

how do I check the map sensor?

What cars did this come on?! I.e is it on the scenic/megane/19 etc

It's not a particularly specialist part for Willy only so I think you could use one off most older Renny's.

map sensors are a GM(vauxhall) part, check out the info on top of sensor and std valver ecu means wrong chip for williams even tho it runs

just taken her for a drive, its really random, happens some times at low revs then sometimes at higher revs then sometimes wont let me rev past 3k like im hitting a limiter! then everynow and again she is fine (and lots of fun) but this is anoying me now!! and the parts still havent turned up.

if you drive gently everywhere she is fine!

car sounds like its running anti lag at the moment banging and popping like a bastard on full throttle.......

FIXED :D:D:D:D

changed map sensor.....still the same so new one went back in the box.
changed the dizzy cap......still the same!

now im well pissed off.......

thought sod it lets start again!

checked every earth....then found a white wire on the coil pack.......in the skuttle pannel......FAIL!!!

changed that.... bingo!

full throttle! WOOOP!

Bit of a silly mistake i grant you but hey she works and i fixed her :D
