I need to do this unfortunately, how difficult is it? I'm a bit of a novice to be honest :(

either engine out job or drop the subframe... no easy way I'm afraid...

As above, not easy, easier dropping subframe, first time i did it it took me 2 days, went wrong loads of times lol.

on your own, no prior experience set aside a weekend

got it down to few hours now on mine tho, once its been off once everythings nice and freed up for next time :wink:

I wouldn't say it's difficult, just time consuming. Where abouts are you? I might be able to come & help.

I'd whip the engine out as I've not tried to do it the other way & I've got it down to just under 3 hours to take the lot out & 20 mins to remove & re-fit the box with a new clutch

Is that lifting the engine and gearbox out from above with an engine hoist etc?? Any other specialist kit needed for that method??

Yeah & that was taking my time with a couple of tea breaks thrown in 8)
