Although I don't have a williams yet ;) I was inducted into ClioSport at the end of 2002 by night.icon and GTIGirl, or whatever name Claire was using at the time.

I can't remember when I first logged on here but it was undoubtedly a link from CS!

That's quite scary thinking about it - the ex had the valver in 2002 when we were together, she kept it as hers for 18months after we broke up, then I bought it off her - so I've known the history for the best part of 8 years...

Owned the Williams since August 2008, and there's barely a bolt on it that I've not undone on it.

I think I Googled the site but got quite into it around the same time I was going to buy Zollo's Williams...started reading about how you lot have dismantled your cars and mad mad bastard machines relatively cheaply and thought...'I could do that'. And I did :D

got my first williams on June 2007 (willy 3)
Only wanted one for about 23 years :shock:before i actually got to buy one :D

Only drove it for a few months before i parked it up for a full shell down restoration
the previous owner had ruined it with silly wheels, lights and bling.etc etc, but the price was right
since then a marrage breakup and serious lack of funds has it still waiting

Found this site with the help of one mr google

I bought my Williams 1 back in May 1999 - It's still a low mileage car (50,000) but is off the road for a full stripdown and detail. Prior to this I bought a 16V Clio new in October 1995 in Monaco blue.

Found this site through Google and I'm now a regular visitor (although I don't post much :) )

It was amazing :D I still remember going to see it when it had arrived off the transporter. I couldn't believe that it was mine. Unfortunately, the dealership where I bought it from closed a few years ago and is now split into a Laura Ashley shop and some kind of wine shop (at least my wife’s happy :))

bought my 1st black valver in 1994 and it was 6 months old, then bought a williams 2 in 1995, then my w3 which i bought off ryan giggs in 96, kept that until 2001, then sold it and bought it back in 2005. then got a valver with a williams turbo conversion, spent a ridiculous amount turning it into a dimma, then decided i prefer a maxi. bought a w1 to do a maxi conversion which wrighty now owns as i couldnt sell the fkin dimma  :x , still cant sell the fkin dimma   so it will be a maxi before the end of summer. not much of a computer boffin and only joined last year.

Bought August 1996 as daily drive.
Retired November 2008, with the occasional exercise runs.
Costing me heaps on tax/insurance but can't bear to part with it.

Is this car having a cambelt done by any chance? What mileage is it?

Hi, its got 95k on the clock.

No doesnt need a cambelt, needs a Aux belt.

But my other half is great with Renault's and he is taking it all apart and putting in new cambelt, aux belt, water pump etc.

Do you know the car? It was on pistonheads.

Bought my Williams 1 after seeing it in the classifieds.
I thought, it must be a valver with wheels painted in gold, and I thought, naah, no way it could be original. Because, it's simple, in 1991. the war striked Croatia, and it made terrible concequences.
People were killed, no food, no money, no gasoline...
So none of the Renault dealers hardley sold any cars, not just williams. They weren't importing it to Croatia at all. So that's the reason why they are so rare in Croatia. And you can't import it, because you can't import car that's older than 7 years. And until 2000. noone imported williams, the ones that were imported were race cars... :)

So I had my five GTT and my 106 GTI as a daily, sit in my GTI and went for 400km. The rest is history :D

As in UK you have owners clubs for every brand, etc. I presumed the Williams has to have alot of fans. Found this page in a sec via Google.

I think you would get more interest if you posted some pictures and a detailed description of the car in the 'for sale' section. If someone is looking for such a car and isn't a frequent visitor to the site then that is where they are going to end up when looking, whereas this thread is only likely to be read by more regular members.

Oh, and since I'm now posting in this thread, I've had my Williams about 3 years and my 16 valve nearly 16 years ;-)

I have just purchased the very first Williams Clio to be kitted with out with a dimma bodykit. It was the car that dimma first bought and modified and then had as a showcar for a few years. It had the number plate "D1MMA". It was then sold and appeared in max power magazine with the number plate "J70HNT". It has been in storage for 3 years and still goes and has 89000 on the clock. I want to get it back to its former glory and was hoping someone could recommend a specialist to carry out the work?

I've had my Williams for about 2 years now and I purchased it from the same guy who sold me my SOGs. This year, I'm thinking about getting some clones off him (or someone else) since he has been selling them for a while now.
