View Full Version : 15's and lowered question
Just ordered some 15's today and picking them up sat......Trouble is im currently runiing 17's and lowered 60mm!!!
Mate has just said i will need to raise it as the ride will be unbearable...........I thought it would actually be better now on 15's and so low!!!
What you guys think?
Was looking forward pickin them up til my bubble was just busted!!!Lol
your mate is an ass! it will be fine! car should feel quicker with smaller wheels too
I think winstons is the lowest round these parts followed by mine.... Gonna raise mine up a bit I think as i keep scraping the cat/downpipe on anything other than smooth roads...mine is about 60-70mm *i think*

Your mate is right in that it may need raising, as with the drop to 15s the overall diamter will be smaller so it will be slightly closer to the ground than with the 17s on the same 60mm drop.
Rich is right though, your mate is an ass cos it'll ride better with the 15s!
I've got a 60mm drop+, when i fit my williams front bumper and ibiza splitter i ahve about 2-3" clearence, and i have about 4" under the cat to downpiep flange......only problems i ahve are on realkly dodgy country roads that have subsided, and occasionally on speed humps.
I recon everyone should measure the distance between the bottem of the still jacking points and the ground front and back

I'm lowered about 60mm on 15's and yes the ride is firm but she handles really well and anyway a frim ride is best!
std suspension and springs are best, especially on our roads...

Mines lowered -60/70mm on 15s. The ride is fine, and it only scrapes the exhaust over really big speedhumps.
The ride will be a lot better though, as you'll have more tire sidewall to soak up the bumps (you are fitting higher profile tyres aren't you?).
See ya

195.45.15's (toyo's) so not high profile!!!
Cheers for the help people..........I will have to see how it feels then report back!!!
