hey, everybody. i was just wondering if there were any members in or around somerset. i've had my williams project on the go for 3 years ( on and off!) starting to loose enthusiasm and wondering weather anybody would be up for a local meet to try and give me some inspiration. also would like help to start a project thread as i'm a complete techno muppett! would really be a shame to send it to the scrap yard as i have serious time and money invested in parts, custom subframe and wishbones, carbon inlet manifold etc. just seems like the light at the end of the tunnel seems to get farther and farther away every day. you guys on here seem to be a really friendly bunch of like minded enthusiastsand i'm looking forward to any help and encouragement that you can send my way, thankyou in advance. mat.

the sunseeker rally is a 3 day gravel event taking place on stages around bournemouth and poole. friday evening is the start at poole quay. just a short stage before parc ferme for the evening. worth it for the anti lag alone! there used to be an evening stage through the winter gardens in the centre of bournemouth which was fantastic, unfortunatelly this is not on this year. apparently the council are sick of fishing imprezas and evos out of their manicured flower beds. there is also a motorshow that go's along with the rally, usually gets the latest renault sport cars on display along with supercar displays, group b car club. CHECK OUT SUNSEEKER RALLYE ON FACE BOOK! you wont be disappointed!

or RALLYE SUNSEEKER even.

IM GOING TO IT THIS YEAR!!! :D

I went maaaannny years a few times in my Scooby and loads of mates. I remember once following a Cossie rally car in heavy traffic near ringwood between stages, we were going up on the pavements and following ambulances and stuff, everyone got out of our way and seemed to assume I was part of the rally hehe. Amazing fun. Years ago as I say, I'd probably be put in prison for that now.

I want to watch the tarmac stages this time and then follow on to the forest!

You have modded subframe? Oooh! Get a project going :)

I was actually going to suggest it Leighanne. Starts Friday evening I think, which is the tarmac stages usually. The forests are fun too! have to find places to park, but there are usually places you can dump the car.

Can be cold and wet but the SOUND!! Ahhhh! Anti-lag engines popping and banging through the woods is awesome. Some really nice machinery of all types too from cossies to EVO's to old Escorts.

nah, not a modded subframe, the standard ones in the pile of rubbish behind the garage. made a new subframe, rose jointed wishbones and adjustable/bladed antiroll bar. t-45 flat sided oval tube, i'll never make another one. lol.

If you need a pit crew... :D

Goatie: made your own subframe? Bloody heck. I had a good old look at getting my hands on rose-jointed w/bones, but I've got so many adjustable bits on my front suspension now it would be over kill for a road car!

have you bought tickets to go to the sunseeker then? I am confused on whats going on and where exactly, never bought tickets before, just wandered about the woods :)

goatorcycle
27-01-2010, 22:53
not bought tickets, i think that you might only need tickets for the sommerley park stage which includes the motorshow, 6r4 reunion, fun fair etc. not certain though. i'll check tomorrow. i find that where suspension is concerned you can never have too much adjustment, but then i have access to all the required set up kit and like to tinker. but i appreciate where you're coming from asfar as a road car is concerned.
