Id say unless you really are hammering the brakes then my suggestion will be fine.
Otherwise I'd go with what Northy said. Mark_Ritchspeed does a Wilwood 4-pot conversion kit, using standard discs, for c£400 IIRC.
whats the break ratio? like how much more are the front breaks used than the rear? does anybody know?

and what u get are
wilwood 4 pot lightweight caliper
clio mounting brackets
disks
pads
and hoses.
I have STD Brembo discs (ie no grooves or holes)
Pagid fast eroad pads
Braking power is absoloutly awesome, will be getting brembo max discs next to do a comparison, but i recon there will be no difference between them.
Stay well away from anythign with EBC on it
i like EBC green stuff pads, but my mate had their discs and i dont think they lasted a month before cracking
im gettin Brembo discs and Pagid pads i think when i change mine

GSF do Brembo Max discs for £30 each and pagid fast road pads for £30 and then Goodridge hoses with decent fluid should see you right.
The Brembo Max discs are grooved which gets rid of the hot gases and means you get less brake fade IMHO.

Grooved discs fill up the grooves in no time when braking hard and it causes vibration through the pedal. I hate them.
lol...do you actually feel them through the pedal mark ???
what about the tarox G88 ones...the there is like 40 grooves to clean the pads....they carnt be as bad can they ?
thanks.....
matt have u got a website 4 GSF?

The more grooves the worse they are. An optimum amount of grooves is something like 6 or 8 depending how big the discs are.
Using Black Diamond front discs with original pads. This model has something like 8 grooves and 36 holes. Don't think there's much improvement over the original discs for fast road driving.
Whatever the brake set-up may be, I recommend regular brake bleed (dot 4) every few months to regain decent bite.

There you go mate and if the grooves get full of brake dust you can always clean them out.
IMHO a much cheaper option then 4 pots that are overkill on a car running less than 200bhp.
thanks matt ill check that website out! :)

Just curious why you would think 4pots are overkill?

I'd say unless you're tracking it anything other than standard discs is overkill personally.
All IMHO, of course.

i dont think theres such a thing as overkill when it comes to brakes, usually one of the first mods i do on a car.
u can also get standard discs from gfs then have them drilled and grooved by a specialist, this is cheaper than aftermarket and better than standard 8)
look on www.raldes.co.uk for cheap discs, look in the maxtorque section
285mm disc conversion from k-tec using the std calipers is a good improvement over std without breaking the bank.

Thing is, its not really much of an improvement as it keeps the weakest part of the original set-up which is the calipers.
Depends what you call an improvement i guess...i found the bigger discs really disapated the heat quicker and gave noticably less brake fade...considering they cost just a little bit more than a completely standard setup they're a good purchase IMO. I must confess though, i never had any issues with that caliper design either on the valver or megane i had.
But yeah, if you're got the money to spend, then i'd agree there are better options.

Probably ok for road use, but at £260 (with vat) that is a lot of money. Spend another £100 and youve got 4 pots on there.
I've got a set of ktec disks and pads the 285mm kit for sale
£100 for them.
at the moment ive got brembo discs (oe replacment) and DS 2500 pads.....awsome stopping power, but ive warped 2/3 sets of discs now.
the advantage of 4pots isnt just the increased clamping force that people see as overkill, but the design helps dissipate heat better...therefore fade and warping are reduced
hmmmm..........i feel weve had this conversation a few times lol.
as stan says the clamping force and the heat disappation of the 4 pots, even on std discs, is better for longer than a disc size upgrade

Exactly like I have said before. My current discs are now a year old and done 3 rallies and 2 trackdays without warping or scoring and thats using extremely aggressive Group A endurance race pads.
