Is there a preset number of years from manufacture that Renault spares are available or do they just keep selling stock until every part runs out?

Anyone have any experience of ordering spares from Renault in France if a part is no longer available in UK?

It's generally more than 1 model variant back when they stop making parts. You might be able to buy spares for a while, it just depends on what they have left in stock.

I imagine if something keeps regularly selling they will still make them. I'm sure clutch cables will be made for many years as yet.

yeh, demand i'd say!

they still sell R5 items, so we should be fine for a few more years :)

I believe there's a european directive that states car manufacturers have to keep/make spare parts for 10 years after a particular model has ceased production

I was told something along those lines when I worked at the toyota factory
