After all that depressing snow photos of clios, I thought I'd take a few pics of my clio when I took it out for its fortnightly exercise.

It's better than freezing cold. But 40C on the tarmac before noon, with 80% plus humidity is no rose garden either. Somewhere in between should be just right. :)

Sorry for the dusty car, I have not cleaned it for over a year.

At my age, it's a bit pervvy to be asking young girls to pose for my camera. But I have found some ugly ones from a local photog gallery for your consideration. Just use your imagination to photoshop them into my photos.

No nudies, but might offend prudes or feminists :)

It's a utility road that runs the whole length of the East Coast with a 50kph limit. I have only very occasionally strayed a teensy weensy bit above the limit 8)

Am afraid I only took a few shots and only 2 came out OK.

Everything should be similar to uk clios, except I have aircon installed. And probably down 20bhp compared to cooler running uk clios, but made up by having brain-mashing grip levels on the hot tarmac.

Yeah, think the site changes the links address after a while to prevent direct linking. Just go the the main page http://gallery.clubsnap.com and browse under Portraits and Poses.

Aircon was installed by the local agent here. It's a fairly standard aircon job. The aircon compressor runs off the aux belt, just above the alternator. The aircon radiator fin sits right in front of the water radiator (with the scuttle removed). The plumbing runs into the car and makes use of the heater fan to blow cool air into the car.

I was never quite happy with it, as it makes an already packed engine bay even tighter, it's not powerful enough to cool properly under the hot afternoon sun and I lose running power. In fact, I don't use the aircon 90% of the time. I wouldn't recommended it, especially for the short uk summers - I think that's silly.

on the 19 16v , models fitted with aircon would have an electric
pump due to limited space in the bay (i have not seen one in flesh mind)
a clio bay would be more of a challange

when you say local agent ,do you mean proper renault dealer ?
is the aircon an optional extra on williams clio ?

have you also got the p/s pump running on aux belt ?
interested to see some pics tbqfh :D

Not a Renault factory option. Done by the renault appointed sole distributor here, who supposedly subcontracted it to a local aircon genius installer.

Yes, it is very, very cramp inside my engine bay. Still using the original power steering pump. I think they shifted the alternator location to make way for the compressor. Obviously, the aux belt is not the original length but a longer piece. Please don't ask me to take pics. I have tried many times. It's all buried inside and I cannot find any distance in there to take a decent shot.

Some old attempted picture shots of the aircon installation.
It's amazing that the aircon actually works.

Nice - because there's so much spare room to work there in the first place... lol
