alright guys. after a few months of sorting out getting her back, i finally picked up the cabriolet.

this year has been a proper shit year for me, a few of you guys will know what happened. but back in august i lost my old man very suddenly (he had a heart attack in his sleep) and i cant even begin to tell you how much of a shock that came to me. after so much sorting out a getting affairs in order, i decided to look for a 2nd car to pass the time away, and always wanted to go back to the XR's (my previous car before the willy was a mark 3 XR3 not the injection model)

i have inherited my dads old garage and after clearing loads of rubbish(and selling some bits too. its now starting to look like a workshop(including a pit!). so i will now have the proper facilities to do some work on the cabby(and not forgetting the willy as well). i hope to put her on the road in april ready for 6 months usage during the summer months.

heres some pics of the garage and the car

all the stuff towards the front of the garage is sold and going tomorrow!

Sorry to hear of your loss, but I'd put money on your old man being happy to know the garage will be put to good use!

Excellent project choice, there is so much stuff for Fords, you shouldn't have any trouble.

Keep us posted on progress and don't forget to take pics!

You think Williams rust ?.........|I drove one of those when they first came out, hated the scuttle shake and the seal leaked at the top of the windscreen, even though it had been recalled three times to replace the seal

Best of luck with it Paul Ill be interested how you get on

You know whats gob smacked me....ive been stripping my zetec engine this morning,an i removed the cams and found that the pulleys on the end of the camshafts are just a push fit on   no woodruf kev or peg to stop it rotating!!........just a bloody big mushroom bolt pushed through the pulley into the end of the cam...........how strange!

Alot of manufacturers use a friction fitting for cranks/cams.

The woodroof key doesnt provide drive, it just provides location for tdc...
