Hello guys and girls, i wonder if any of you can help me?
Well hopefully you won't shoot me down for this but i've got a Volvo 340 with a F7R in it :D which was rebuilt about a year ago after buying it from this site.

Sadly i don't think the water pump was changed and now there seems to be quite a noisy "whiring" sound coming from the engine. It runs fine, i've driven it like this and performance isn't affected so is this the sound of a water pump thats on it's last legs?

I've noticed you lot seem to take the engines out to do cambelt work, but i think i've got more room so would it be a pretty straight forward job done in place?

If anyone has other ideas as to what the noise could be can you enlighten me?

Cheers and here's a pic to show the working space

You don't have the same bulkhead/pulley brackets to worry about so water pump will be a piece of piss, and they are cheap.

Cheers Wobba :)

Is it recomended to use a Renault pump or are there aftermarket ones that are just as good?
