Looking at getting a powerflow from infinicar - It's almost striaght through with a 3.5" tail pipe.

Is it going to be very loud?

If it's straight through I imagine it's gonna be loud, how much you paying for it fella, cause you can get the powerflows made to order for noise size and tail pipe for 250 with a lifetime guarantee fitted.

Straight thro will lose you power. I don't rate powerflow exhausts, a few friends have had bad experiences and all have said there cars felt slower. This was proved by one who put his standard exhaust back on and was amazed at just how much poiwer he had lost. This was on a VTS by the way.

id recommend the powerflows tbh...but it depends on the outlet that built em as to their quality.

the guys at top gear in burnley do a shit hot job, and i have been impressed with both of mine.

again like monkey said, when u go to powerflow, they build u a zorst to ur needs, i.e loud/quiet, so if the guy who paid for it wanted a loud 1.....then yeah itl be loud lol, but if it is a straight through, with no centre silencer in, then again, its gunna be loud

I prefer the induction noise my car makes. Its only noisy when i put my foot down then :D

I have agree with Jon powerflow are good...their zorst actually fit well!

Could possibly be down to the outlet I agree. Although the people I know who have had bad experiences all went to different branches :?

I dont rate Powerflow either TBH, performance wise it made no difference until the decat went on... now it's slower, although having cams negated this feeling completely... If I was keeping the car I'd go to Blue Flame personally as they seem much more performance based... although the Powerflow I have sounds the tits.

Does it make a difference that it came off a valver? I've got a floating flange on my de-cat, so that's no problem

J o n

wont make any difference mate, they are still the same basically. the raspy noise you get from the powerflow cant be beaten too imo... shame about the performance tho :(

So is it possible that i'm going to lose power?!

Well 2live, Martin and Chris n Nic don't think so, although I have a Magnex/Powerflow cross breed, when I had the centre section replaced on my magnex with a powerflow, I did think it had lost a little power but that is prolly just in my mind. I wouldn't have any worries going with a full powerflow system or blueflame even.

Straight thro will lose you power..

I would of thought if you keep the standard size bore (is it 2 1/4 inch?)
you would not loose but gain power , what are the exhausts like on the Maxi & group N rally cars ?

What about a completely straight through 2 1/4 with a small 2 1/2 or 3'' backbox ? the small backbox tailpipe would keep some backpressure?

Andyvalver

I was under the impression that with 4 stroke engines the exhaust fumes must get out as quick as possible.( so straight through would be good). Only on 2 stroke engines you need back pressure :?

N/A cars rely on back pressure.

Turbo cars need to clear exhaust gases quickly.

Ive got a scropion back box and powerflow middle section with a mini silencer......the fits the bill :D

Its all down to the massive scropion backbox tbh

Yours is deffo stealth winston...can hardly tell when it idling...but gets louder as soon as you boot it..

I think a better question would be how does it compare to the magnex full back box? Thats been tried and tested: bangs, increases power marginally as far as I could tell, but is def loud

i dont think that you need to think about power losses, when the powerflow zorsted cars are the quickest ones about........imo hehe

but could be quicker, mines deffo lost power... although it wasn't made at Top Gear and Powerflow in general aint the cleverest...

Did all you SS guys tell your insurence companies?? If so how much did they adjust your premium by??

I need a new exhaust and am thinking of getting a mongoose system.

no mate..tbh its a direct s/s replacement exhaust....

thinkin bout the powerflows again tho, they usually just bend to exact same as whats on when they get it, so if uv got a std zorst on, as me n chris had, then probs the better design, seeing as tho reno put so much into it, etc

if u have an after market 1 on, thats maybe restrictive slightly, coupled with a bad outlet, recipe for disaster really

J o n
20-07-2005, 13:45
not told my insurance company, but i'm not bothered about getting the money back for it in the worst event... plus i'd prolly have changed it again anyway if I was keeping the car.
