had the battery light come on and flash every now and then? had a second hand alternator fitted a few years ago. how much from renault(or do gsf do one??) for a brand new one?

i have 3 fully working alternators sittin on a shelf in my garage, £35 delivered.

from memory i think their about £80

i may take you up on that offer midge. will carry out tests on the current one to see if its fooked....

loose belt will cause the light to come on also .

again most of the time its the carbon brushes that are worn
and causing the drop . replacing them is pretty easy .
you can get a full regulator from ebay around 20quid .

you can get the brushes seperately and solder on ,bit fiddley while you can
buy the whole regulator tbh . but done that in the past also .
first of all you got to find out the unit you got , paris rhone,lucas ,bosch ??
what amperage etc ?
