Hi Guys,

I attempted to take out alternator on my williams yesterday. Managed to lossen it and get the belt off without loosening any of the pulleys...is this ok? or does it mean there was too much slack in the belt?

Anyway, the main problem is that I can not undo the lower bolt (16mm) on the bracket. It has seized. Was planning on getting a blow torch to add some heat to see if that would help.

Any contraindications to this? I do not want to cause any damage!

Also, I did not realise how big the alternator belt is. If that is the alternator belt, where is the cam belt? Initially I thought that was the cam belt!...It obviuosly is not, so I am now now unsure as to where the cam belt is!

Cheers

cam belt is totally covered mate, its behind the aux belt you've removed but you need to remove top engine mount etc to access it

nowt wrong with adding a bit of heat, just be careful not to damage anything nearby like loom etc
