this box is 1k old from brand new, and unused since it's been refreshed though ;) a box in a cup car will probably need a few thou spending pretty soon

They go for about £5.5k-6.5k on Race Cars Direct and come up every few months.

I disagree about them needing money spent on them when they are in cars - mostly they are looked after, as people DO NOT want to HAVE to fix them if they go wrong.

Any of these boxes would need a few quid spending on them - thats the nature of the beast.

We had a customer who purchased a car - box failed first time out. Rebuilt by a hewland specialist, and never had a problem in the next 20 months of running it... He changed oil every time out, and looked after it on down shift, but then that is where you want the diff to work, so it does defeat the objective somewhat.

whats the power handling though...

They are rated at 200ft/lbs torque max if its the same as the cup one. Wont see any 2ltr NA clio give real 200ft/lbs torque figures.

Thats the official rating from Sadev aye, they WILL take alot more, Sadev are just playing it safe.

They are alot more durable than a std gearbox.

I think Cliolord needs one, he's blown a gearbox everytime he's taken his car to Pod lol.

Its worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it...

...and they dont need "special" driveshafts, that box takes std fitment ones.

Are you sure? As the Racecars have special driveshafts. It is perfectly within reason however that this was made to take a standard Road Driveshaft.

Cup racer boxes use different shaft but they use Laguna hubs too.

std may fit but the cup racers didnt run standard shafts on the ones i have seen, they were rsport/sadev items.....

Maybe but point still remains that you don't need 'special' driveshaft.

Look to be the case.
