I was on the look out for either a cammed valver lump or a williams lump.

Ive found a cammed valver engine and im very tempted to go along with the deal but was just wondering how much people think its worth ??

Spec:
Kent cams
Vernier pulleys
Cambelt and tensioners
New head bolts
New head gasket
New hydrolic lifters
Low temp fan swith
Low temp thermostat

Apparently work was carried out in June 08 and has done 3K miles since.
Selling due to having someone shunt him in the rear and not being able to afford to repair the car.

How much do people think i should pay for it ?
I need to let him know and pick it up ASAP if im going ahead with the deal.

Cheers

He said he wont take any less than £300 for it.....Think i should go for it ?

What should i do about transporting it in the back of the car ?
Are any fluids going to leak out everywhere ?
How does everyone else transport them ?

Times like this i wish i hadnt sold my van

How many miles has it done in total? Seems expensive for a 16v lump, get a willy lump and you can change the cambelt and water pump before you drop it in, much better base to start with.

What about a brand new megane bottom end 714 and williams modified head, cams helix paddle clutch. 3k on bottom end and 100 miles after full head rebuild, cam belt and head gasket etc.

185bhp

£600+ is what I'd pay

was thinking 1k for full engine inc leads / coil / loom / RSport ECU / Carbon cam covers. Will prob keep as a spare.

The head rebuild cost 750 with new valves, bolts, head gasket and cambelt, porting etc...

We will see..

Gotta remember how old these cars are now, there's not many people willing to spend 1k sadly.

Wasnt looking to spend that much mate sorry.

He said its done around 70k miles and had the head rebuilt 3k miles ago.....I contacted the garage and they confirmed the work done.

Thought 300 was quite a lot for an F7P aswell but when you concider the price of the cams and pulleys it sounds quite cheap.
Plus also has gearbox which go for around 100 on there own.

It would do mate, the R5 is a bloody awesome experience in a standard car let alone that kinda power.
