Finally got the whole blowing fuses/light situation fixed. Although when the dash lights the temp display does not illumnate. Is this a common problem?? Also oil level gauge ain't working. Any ideas??

That'll just be the bulb, if it's there normally and dissapears when you put the lights on it's the bulb!

Oil level is only shown for 30 seconds after the key is turned to position 1 of the ignition barrel! If it doesn't do this then the sender or dials may have failed.

well it made the display work, might be something on yours that stops you getting any numbers showing at all, just a possibility, failing that rip the dash out and check all bulbs, connectors etc if bulbs are good then it has to be a dirty earth or dodgy connection tbh
