Right, after being let down a few times, im after ANY gearbox for the hybrid now.
Will something from like a 1.1/1.2/diesel fit, and whats the chances of it lasting more than a day with 180ish bhp?

Any gearbox will fit as long as its from a mk 1 i believe, or few adjustments and mounts for some other gearboxes :D

dunno bout 1.1 but any box with the starter at the back will fit

i had a 1.6 16v meg box. was good imo


currently got a ph1 172 box. you'll need the mk2 battery tray and mount. wont fit with ABS though


as long as the starter motor is at the back and has a manual speedo drive you could pretty much use any renault box from the 90's to the early 00's

Ok, so a lower spec 'box will fit, aslong as the starter bolts to the rear.
Whats the chances of it last longer than about an hour?

yeah mk 1 laguna 2.0RT's, i think they have same top mount as the clio so no need to change it. some have bolts to the sump, some dont, depends on if the laguna the box was fitted to had a steel or ally sump but they all fit

16valver: JB3 (ratio depends on cartypes, 19-16v got the longer 5th)
williams : JC5 (014)
Clio sport 172: JC5 028, straith fit and prob best option
clio sport 182 : JC5029, elect. speedo
Clio sport ragnotti (over here): JC5 030 ( very rear box, diff ratio's)
