Firstly, for my information, is a Megane flywheel on an F7R B/E a different size, bigger, than a willy flywheel? Only reason I ask is because I had to remove it to get it to fit on the engine stand. The thread next to starter bracket, it would not go in unless removed. The teeth fouled on the mounting bracket on the engine stand...

Finally got round to removing it today.

1st attempt, so took a while of prepping for removal, disconnecting everything.

Plus I had to borrow an engine crane, so been waiting for that back for 2 weeks. Wanted this done 6 weeks ago!

I can just see what will happen now, Im gonna start moving from one job to another without committing to one and finishing it!

1st job I mounted my F7R on he stand (mobile pic, not great quality).

Firstly I had to get this bad boy out. Took a lot of persuading with a hammer. Looks a bit rusty!

Then proceeded to lift the beauty out.

Im going to start work on the F7R this week. Start stripping it down. I dont know what Im gonna do with it yet. All sorts going on in my head. ITB's/Cams only/Std (See some guys have real quick ones on totally std setup. Really not sure yet. Money obviously an issue and the body work will need a fair bit. Arches and sills and respray.

Gonna go for yellow on wishbones and subframe. Love the pic of Queegan's in general post area. Looks awesome!

If I can get this finished by mid Summer will be well chuffed.

Will start a thread in the project area soon.

Thanks for looking.

overall diameter of meg f7r and williams/16v flywheels are the same, its just the clutch plate which is bigger on meg f7r, and trigger pattern iirc

good work tho!!

Fight fight fight!! :o

I just noticed from talkingfish pictures and coupla other threads they had their engine (willy) mounted on a stand with flywheel on yet mine wouldnt go on. Kept thinking I was doing something wrong so just took it off. Cured it.

depends on the stand aswell, the fittings on mine are to wide to allow the flywheel to remain bolted on, as you said easy way round it, remove the flywheel lol

ayee something like that , i actually compared the lot a couple years
back but cant remember well . meggy wheel was no good so i sold on .

shame though , 215mm clutch could give a better bite over
standard .

The megane engine I had wouldn't go onto the stand with the flywheel on but the valver engine went onto the same stand with the flywheel on with no problem :?
