Just a quick question.
I have been toying with the idea of removing the self adjusting mechanism on the clutch.
As I see it there are two ways,
1) Modify the clutch pedal ~~ remove the plastic/nylon rachet mechanism, and modify the pedal and clutch arm to accomaodate a new cable with an adjuster on it. BUT which cable,There is one listed in the Gp"A" catalogue, but it is for the LHD cars and would possibly be too short

Anyone any ideas.
2) Modify the whole clutch arrangement to hydraulic ~~ Quiet a bit involved, and obviously not a cheap conversion.

So people has anyone either done these or has information that might help me.
Regards
Rod.

i want the same, im getting seriously annoyed with clutch cables snapping, done my 6th 1 last night, luckily i have 2 spare in my garage.

I think its the self adjuster that just keeps tightening the cable when it doesnt need tightening, but have replaced the pedal a few times too.

Any 1 wanna buy #250 minus a clutch cable???

are you sure there is nothing else wrong in the clutch system ?
are you using genuine renault cables ?? are you making sure the
plastic locater clip is going through the hole in the chassis correctly ?
where the cable snaps can give you a good indication of this !!

i only use gen renault parts
yes plastic locator goes through, thats the bit that takes me the longest
and the cable seems to snap in different places everytime, but its usually near the pedals not further than a foot from the end

sorry cliorod for nicking your thread
