subframe

before i order, is there a piece which goes across the gap where the radiator goes?
(that the subframe bolts onto?

or does the subframe "fill the gap" ?

anybody got any stripped pictures?

theres a cross member that s welded to the chassis rails either side that the subframe mounts to at the front, but its a cut out job to replace i think

do they tend to be rust free? or should i be looking at going deeper than just a subframe?

mine was fine, bit of surface rust i wire brushed back and treated, then coat of hammerite smooth and its been perfect for 2 years now. its similar to other underbody areas, if its surface rust can be treated and re-painted and if its rotten it can be replaced, won't know until you whip the front bumper off for a look see
