Bought an F7r bottom end in bits.I'm in the process of rebuilding it as a spare. The problem I have is, are the conrods fitted with the locating dowels nearest to the flywheel or cam pulley.Hope this makes sense.

The locating dowls will be positioned front to back, not side to side...but in any case it doesnt matter.

The big end locating dowels surely either face the flywheel or the cam belt pulley. The conrods are not symetrical.

Surely it makes a difference which way the con rods are fitted as there is a lubricating hole located in the small end.Does this face or face away from the oil jets in the block.

Sorry i miss-visualised what you were asking,,

Logically you would have the small end hole nearest the jet at tdc, this would put the dowls on the flywheel side.

Whether it makes much different to small-end lubrication...i doubt it.

Just wanted a second opinion.Thats the way I thought they fitted.

Thanks for you're help.
