I've heard from some people into hondas & they use sand to port & polish the valves while the engine is running :P

Lol....DONT try it.

Cant you just use a traditional valve cleaning tool from Halfords, costs about £1.50.

shouldn't at all if you're sensible. If you used excessive force you might have issues, but i've done hundreds and hundreds like that

no m8 it wouldn't valve material is seriously hard no much chance of touching it with a rotary wire brush

DAN , while you are here , could you tell me why some
of my valve stem seals seem to be sitting lower compared to
others ?? is this something that will fix itself once valves are fitted
with springs ,retainers etc .

just done them :D :D

here is how my nasa spec valve cleaning system works ;

wrapped the end of the stems in masking tape only to avoid metal to
metal contact . stuck it in the drill than used a scotch pad with some
diesel on it and span the drill on the pad , literally 30 seconds of spinning
and the valves come out spangly .

now i am off to make some cardboard carbon shields for the valves .
hopefully these will prevent excessive carbon build up zorst valves
in the future :D :wink:

Ive got some stem seal removal pliers if you want to bring the head over to mine and remove them here, as without the pliers you will struggle.
