Just thought I'd share what I've been up to so I can get to pod on the 17th. I'm not running but going for the banter & a drinking session
As some of you may know I've recently swapped my engine for a freshly rebuilt F7P with cams. Some of you may also know about the troubles I've had with it as well
So 1st off is the exhaust, it's blowing like a bitch on heat, so here's how I've sorted that little problem

yes you've guessed it, shit loads of fire gum exhaust paste  It's only a temporary fix until I get my sports cat made up & fitted.
Next issue is the pain in the arse oil leak I've got  I do believe it's the crank oil seal behind the flywheel that's at fault. It's also making a mess of my drive, so since I can't get to fixing that next month (time & tools dependant) I've gone for a different approach
I've used this

I've made a tray out of cardboard to catch the dripping oil :P
Here it is cut out & offered up to the underside

Then trimmed to keep it away from the downpipe
http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/qq165/16v_paddy/Latest%20Project/Image131.jpg
Then secured in several places with speaker wire, it's all tucked into & routed round various parts of the subframe so it can't go anywhere
http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/qq165/16v_paddy/Latest%20Project/Image130.jpg
Then knocked up some heat shielding using tin foil & exhaust paste
http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/qq165/16v_paddy/Latest%20Project/Image132.jpg
Then gave it a tidy up & a lick of paint and lacquer, not pretty I know but I'm hoping it will give it a bit of protection from the elements
http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/qq165/16v_paddy/Latest%20Project/Image133.jpg
So, can anyone "out pikey" my little fixes??
