Old Pagid Blues after 2.5 years and about 15k miles, including a few days on track here and there:

A bit fecked or still useable? I've kept them just in case lol

(Notice they have the spring bar things to keep them in place but the new ones don't - that's not a problem, is it?)



New Carbone Lorraine RC5+ (the new compound that sits inbetween the original RC5 and RC6 compounds - it's got more copper and less iron in them apparently, so should be a lot less evil-dust-y lol)

I assume the springs are just to keep them located in the calipers? They're a pretty snug fit atm so don't appear to need them, but will they rattle around a bit as they wear down?

Doesn't appear to be an easy way to get the springy bits off the old ones as they're wrapped around a metal thing in the hole :(

Pagid Blues great pad and last forever. Done a whole season in the rally car with mine and never faded once..... 8)

Check out the RS29s if you can get them in your fitment - even better than the blues I found.

the springs are to stop the pads rattling

Ok, update since yesterday...

As I feared, yes, they are rattling in the calipers over nuggety bumps etc. Is this bad? Is it going to be a problem?? :?:

Apart from that, so far so insane :shock: lol

I know the pedal is biting nearer the top of the pedal because there's so much more meat on them than the tired Blues, but WTF - I'm barely even braking and they seem to just wipe speed off like they don't even care what speed you're doing :shock: :twisted:

I've yet to get them properly warmed through to see what they're like when abused but I'm actually worried I'm going to be locking the front wheels at high speed when I do lol

Seriously, much better than Blues for bite but perhaps a little trickier to modulate pedal feel because they seem to grip the discs then increase their grip without you even moving the pedal any further down because they're getting warmed up :shock:

I'm too skint to afford petrol at the moment so can't go out and give them some beans :( but I will hopefully get a trip out for work soon so I can do it on work expenses ;)

So, on only a few miles evaluation, I would say try these if you're looking for a pad that will take whatever you can throw at it but still bite from cold :) I will update further when I can!

Ive had the RC5 spec pads fitted to my williams and yes they do rattle a lot and the dust ruins your wheels if left on for more than a day in bad weather. (Maybe the RC5+ material will be better) Awesome bite and work non-stop without fade on trackdays. The worst part i found was that I went through several sets of Brembo Max discs in a year thats after 3 track days and approximately 1000miles.

At least discs are cheaper to replace!!
