sold the 200sx turbo i had (maybe should have kept it for the 200sx ive just bought?!) as the actuator was giving me grief, ive decided to jsut get the one that everyone else use's.

what does everyone else?
where do you get it from?
do i need to ask to have the turbo a certain way round?
actuator and bracket included?
any special points to ask/make when ordering?
and how much will it cost?

very interested to hear peoples thoughts on this as i too am after a new turbo. i have a brand new T25 but i understand the GT28RS is the way forward as im hoping for big bhp and torque , but i have no idea what fitment i need or turbine/compressor etc etc etc :popcorn1:

as neil mentions, vince at CR knows his stuff and has done a fair few GT28RS's in clio fitment now so best off starting there

Depends on your application but the GT28R can also be considered as it spools quicker then the RS, will make less power up top though...

Depends on what you are going for really :D

well im hoping for 300bhp ideally with plenty of torque to boot

ai theres a massive range of housing specs to choose from, i gave vince my engine spec and projected power aims and he specced it accordingly, as frankly all the different combinations are not only a mystery to me but also incredibly dull

I'll have a proper butchers at the various compressor maps this week, but if your nice to coops, maybe he will give you the part number off his invoice, seen as the hard work has been done already :P

you want to do it properly though :D

Coops is your turbo oil and water cooled?

And how much bigger is it over the BB one you had ?

Going to be taking my one off soon to check its condition and wrap the mani and dp

midge, no one said running a turbo is cheap, but its in theory a one time buy for lots of power, they are good to 30psi of boost, will last a lifetime if you look after it properly and with using a UK company you have fallback if fitment isn't quit right etc, just send it back for vince to get it spot on.

allan - yep water and oil cooled mate. it is however slightly wider than the old one, hence my solid adjustable dogbone to get better clearance on the subframe for the downpipe.

ai, bit weird how CR are changing tact now, when me and neil specced ours, and a few others have since, the GT28RS was recommended for our application

2860 IS a GT28RS

just re-read  the 2560 has a smaller compressor wheel and housing. Not a common or popular turbo at all really. Could work as it will help reduce EGTs with a larger exhaust side. Not what i'd use personally

i emailed on thursday and got this reply friday morning from Mark arnold

" Thanks for your email, glad to hear people are recommending us!
I would suggest the turbo best suited to your needs would be the GT2560. This will be the most responsive unit to do 300Bhp plus "
