Finally started my ITB project.

Stripped the engine for std. manifold.
Unfortunately the ITB manifold does not clear the power steering pump.

It's a Williams head with the awful chadil manifold for Jenveys.

Has anyone experienced this before?
How did you solve it?
(remove material - how much?)
(Other solutions)

I know I could/should remove the PAS system.
That might be an option if a quick rack solution is found.

remove the power steering mate and fit a normal poverty spec rack for now, then when/if the quaife parts get sorted fit them to the rack

i've just fitted maual steering with a normal manual rack and in all honesty for normal twisties i cant tell the difference to the power steering rack, its just slow manouvres that show up the lock to lock turns being more

you have to grind some of the manifold in a few areas to get it to fit. It will go on, there's loads of meat that you can grind away

I'va also struggled for hours with getting it on the studs. In the end I've removed the studs and used cap head bolts. Much easier.

It will be interesting with the quaife parts...
But in all honesty i don't think gears are interchangeable between LDH and RHD racks.

So for now - let the savage grinding commence!

Thanks for your input guys!
Will see if i can make it work...
