Lol, cheers.

I went from pillar to post with a new car.

In the end this was the best option.

When we turned up my wife who isn't arsed about cars said:

"Wow, that looks amazing."

Never really liked red cars personally until now!

Looks superb and the graphite wheels finish off a very nice looking motor!

Very, very nice!

I was looking at one of those on PH the other day... to pricey for me though. Did you pay about £7k for it?

Lol, for sure.

At least you didn't come over and say "Alright Daz, nice car, I think Jamie has a mk2 too, but he's a twat!" -

Will hold you to saying hi at the next meet though.

Alright mate, I don't like to talk money on the forum tbh, but I am sure you could come to an educated guess as to roughly what I paid. I don't mean that in a funny way or anything.

Cheers for the compliment to.

It's really nice and very pleased with it. It's really tidy, no kerbings on the wheels, FSH, 40k, 2 former keepers. Just needs two new tyres in the not too distant future.

The handaling is awesome!

Cheers boys, yeah, the car is very nice.

It was the best choice for me by far.

Take you out one night this week Col.

Daz.
27-09-2009, 20:34
predictable boy

but I agree with your choice :D only a fast megane would get me out of a mk2 at the moment - or a nimbus 197 8) 8) 8) 8)

What do you think then? how better (if at all in a normal drivers hands) is handling? I still think I couldn't expoit fully the extra supposed performance out of a trophy on a normal road - I am jealous of the fact its a trophy though - theres something nice to know your in the recognised top dog of a car ladder!

Daz.
27-09-2009, 20:35
oh and buy some trophy skirt stickers from renault now before they start charging million zillion per side

Jamie.
27-09-2009, 20:37
Tbh Daz, I was really sceptical about the car and the way it handled before driving.

Being honest, it's a whole different league to my 172.

It's MILES better.

I have two low front tyres too and I took my mate out who as a 172 incidentally too and he thought we were going to understeer into a kerb... Just pick the corner and go too quick, it goes round with ease, it's frightening.

That is MINT.... WANT.

Been thinking about what's next on the car list - I'll be moving from the Williams and was thinking 172 cup, and although this is certainly more than you'd pay for one of those, I'd also image it holds it's value a little more - the EVO listing certainly won't do it any harm.

Do you notice a really big difference between that and the 172?

Lovely looking motor...

Jamie.

I will do a write up comparing the Williams, 172 and Trophy if you want.

I talk to matwills a bit on msn and he said they are like different cars (the 172 and Trophy) and I was really skeptical but honestly they are.

There are alot of subtle differences as well as big changes.

The main changes (172 to Trophy) are the handaling. This includes the greater steering weight, much more planted, doesn't drift (only RS owners will know what i mean by that). The 172 was very safe and understeery but the Trophy doesn't do it, well I haven't made it do that yet but would have to push really hard. My mate came in it for two mins and could immediatley see the diffs as he has a 172 as well.

There is quite a difference in the way the engines go to. Much more 5k kick on cam and pulls more smoothly from there on in.

Also, the wheels, paint, v6 spoiler and seats are the cosmetic changes I think.

Fancy getting some pics up of the interior? :D

Yeah I'd heard as much regarding the handling... It honestly sounds like an awesome car, I bet you have a *lot* of fun with it.

I love the styling mods too - very pretty indeed.

Yeah I'd love to hear what you think of the 3 cars - I've not driven either of the newer ones, but I've heard good things about the 172 cup and obv. the trophy so would love to hear how they compare to the Williams...

Jamie.
28-09-2009, 20:38
Sure, I will get some of the interior. Although that isn't what the car is about
