Has anyone got any suggestions how I can save myself £67 plus vat for a heat shield from my local thrifty bargain store........Renault?

Been looking at making my own and sourced some stuff called cirrus that is supposed to be apt for the job but will end up same price as that bargain basement supplier 'Renault'.

Any suggestions?

thanks :?

see they sold it to me by telling me my brake fluid was going to explode and i'd be in a ditch on fire! now thats a motivated sales pitch!

I only have a poor pik of it, but I used the silver peelback tape that engineers use on steel ducting, on the joints. And just coverd my old crappy sheild. build the corners up first with some cardboard. And im pretty pleased with it!!

Much cheaper althernative and freshens up!

Are you sure cardboard is the best material for that?

Thanks for the ideas, I would consider trying to renovate the existing one if I had one! Looks like I'll have to pay for one through Renault unless I can find an old one. Heres hoping :?

Its been there for 4 summer months and its still going strong. And tidy!
Its sealed up with the reflective tape, both sides, with 2-3layers, so the card (Touch wood) shouldnt get that hot..
