Ended up spending a sunny Friday afternoon flushing the disgusting brown anti-freeze out of my williams and replacing it with the renault type d coolant. Found it a bit of a mission and ended up taking the radiator out. Cleaned out the header tank while i was at so now i can see where the coolant level is :D.

New headers do wonders for the appearence of the engine bay.

Yeh i wish i had bought one prior to changing the coolant. It cleaned up really well but couldnt get all the grime out the bottom of the tank. Going to take a trip to gsf and get some gearbox oil today, hopefully that will be a bit easier to change.

They only cost about £15 new mate. Mine made such a change with fresh coolant aswell :)

When my rad is off I always give it a major flushing. You get tons of crap out of it! I usually lay it flat with water in and shake it about loads to get as much residue off as possible.

My old engine was badly caked in grime. The new megane engine is almost pristine and even after 3 months the coolant has not gone brown, still mint!
