Bloody French Electrics!!

Bought a Williams not long ago and the rear wiper wasn't working. I stripped the motor and mechanism and found it to be seized up with crap. So, I cleaned it up, put it back on and it now works like a charm. The problem is that my front wipers have now gone bezerk. They work but won't return to the off position automaticaly. I'm guessing it's the relay somewhere but I can't undertsand why they were fine before with the rear wiper locked up and now they're buggered.
Any ideas?

Could be a short circuit somewhere? Probably worth cleaning the front ones too, and all the connections, just in case... lol

Done that plus checked every fuse I could find and they were fine. The weird thing tho is I can hear something clicking on and off now and again with just the ignition turned on and nothing else. It seems to be coming from deep behind the dash, right in the middle. :?
