View Full Version : Clio Williams: EVO's Top 100 greatest ever drivers cars.
Of course, the little Willy makes it up pretty damn high against some amazing machinery...not as high as the 182 Trophy which can hold it's head very high...

I looked at this the other day, i though it would of been higher!!! lol.
where was the ITR?
If you mean the 'teg, it placed about 22nd or so.
Some amazing cars in the top 100.
Renault had 2 in the top 100, the R26R and the Trophy. Pug 205 came 23rd.
if you think 30th was a bad score...look at what the Willy beat:
Skyline GTR came 21st
Scooby P1 was 32nd
New Focus RS came 39th
Carerra GT 49th
McLaren F1 71st
Ferrari Enzo 58th
Gumpbert Apollo 59th
Clio 200 Cup 61st
Integrale 84th
Bugatti Veyron 81st
NSX 48th
968 CS 50th
Gallardo 54th
Exige 36th
You kinda get the idea. 30th may not sounds great, but for a 2.0L shopping trolley against the above....it's pretty incredible.

I am sooooo totally confused (but I am blonde) how many Renaults were in the top 100 and where did the willy come if it beat the GTR
Where's the classic Mini? Surely the 1275 Cooper S must be very high on any best driver's car listing.
my maths is pretty bad, but R26R, Trophy, Clio 200 Cup and Willy is 4 Renaults in the top 100??? :?
I meant top ten lol

You're right. Mini Cooper S came 67th.

Renaults in the top 100:
Megane R26R (5th)
Clio Trophy (Joint 7th with Ferrari F50, lol)
Clio Williams (30th)
Alpine A610 (55th)
Clio 200 Cup (61st)
Peugeot did well too with several models, 106, 205 and 306 Rallye all scoring well.

No R5GT turbo or 5 turbo? That's surprising.

Although the 5 was a classic motor I don't think they handled as well the others mentioned

IMHO a factory scooby is not a drivers car. Fairly quick in a straight line and has loads of grip. If you want to drive quickly in all weather conditions, without having to do anything, then they are hard to beat. Drivers car though? not in my book. For a fun journey I would take a Williams, 306 GTi-6/Rallye, 106GTi/Rallye or a 205GTi over one without a doubt.
Factory R33 Skyline? again nothing to write home about, why have this rather than an R32?
Given what is in the list an RX-7 is a glaring omission.
It's really hard to comprehend how they objectively jump from a Zonda to Ferrari to Clio and rate them within the context of drivers cars. For me, a Zonda or Ferrari will always be > than 99% of other cars.

is 22 better than 21 and it placed 30 :?:

Maybe having access to those types of cars on a daily basis (and without having to cope with the running costs!) diminishes the other worldy status of them a tad?
No matter what though, I partly love my Williams because I like the way it looks, and the fact its a just a Clio yet still does so well after all these years :) Nice to see it still rated right up there with the big boys :P
