was hard to compair as he was behind me - once he was in front the gap he initally pulled stayed the same bar one corner where i could close - Leighanne was with me at that time so she might remember more. I recon if it had been the afternoon and i have been on my own like him it would of been close.

If im honest - bar one megane 225 not many pulled a gap on the straights!

I was going to post some witty comment about the driver.
But it would leave myself open to too much retaliation!

Thats pretty amazing if that 200 was similar to yours given you have full slicks.

Great to see the old cup cars out and about, cant be many around now, especially in that condition.
Do you know who owned the car in the 91,92 season?

original Michelin S9B slicks. 18/57 x 15 which is like a 195 50 tyre.

Yes, a guy called David Kay drove it in 1992. But 1993 it was raced as number 28 by Ian Mcintosh from Ireland.

Not met either of them but the earliest picture i have is this one -

Last month i managed to find the orginal copy of Fast Lane magazine on ebay that featured my car way back in 1993.

When i bought the car iteam think informed me it was mag featured way back in the day....but getting a copy has been hard to say the least. Well chuffed when it finally turned up. Was dissapointed to only find two pictures of mine though. One posted the other a interior shot. Will upload the full article when i get home tonight.

This is the earliest picture i have of my car now - just before it was competing in the 1993 season as number 28 (which you will have all seen). I have no idea why its No 60 though (maybe thats what it raced as in 1992) I looked but carnt see a number 60 on the vids i have.

I remember traveling back to the paddock in that car at Brands in 1992, David had just blitzed the field, winning in the wet on the GP circuit.
He was terrifying coming through Clearways, visibly quicker than everyone else, every lap we were waiting for the car to end up in the pit wall! It was car number 24 then.

David only did a couple of races in 92, although he really should have won the championship in 1991, however some bad luck and lack of testing relegated him to third overall.
The car was always one of the best prepared in the paddock and it’s great to see that you are keeping up that tradition.

It was also one of the few UK Cup cars to race in the Clio Euro Cup competing at Monza in 91.

wow thanks very much mate - i love finding history out about any car.

In 1992 i have footage of David kay racing at mallory park - its defo my car (in my eyes). Numberplate at the back, same pull and kill switches in the radio apparture - but would like to have conformation it is the car. In 1993 he was back racing a blue clio. Mine doesnt appear only in the programs i have as number 28.

I will look at my videos and see if i can see what number it is in 92.

It was dry stored in ireland for 10 years apparenlty after 1993 - team think imported it and recomissioned the car. They sold it on and i bought it one owner later.

Do you have any contact information for David?

Ahh Mallory 92, i think even he was worried when he managed to run wide enough at the devils elbow to bang the door mirror on the tyre wall, if you have the in car footage you will understand, having raced there it makes me shudder to think of it.
The car was number 24 in 1991 and 1992, if the video you have of the 1992 season includes Pembray it is the car with the L plate in the back window going sideways at the hairpin on the first lap, cant remeber who drove it then.
