Hi all! :D

I've got a Clio 16v but its fitted with 172 running gear. I need a set of williams coilovers for it as the current setup is pretty pap to be honest.

I was after either H&R (seem to come highly recomended) or KW's (used to have them on a 172 I had and an M3 I had)
Does anyone have any other recomendations? What websites/companies can do me a good deal??

Many many thanks in advance, And I hope to be on here a bit from now on! :D

Cheers, Dan.

Jamie.

Hello Dan.

Why don't you have a look at the cup racer set up? Evogone has a cup and maybe an alternative to coilovers, I am sure he could give you some part numbers. It maybe cheaper or similar cost to the H&R's which aren't cheap.

Welcome mate

What hubs have you got on your valver? If they're 172 hubs I think you'll need coilovers for the 172

IIRC the 172 has a wider track then the williams so if you do get williams hubs & struts one of them needs modifying (can't remember which  ) to resolve the camber issue you'll have because of the differences in track width.

Hope that helps

if your using 172 running gear and valver shocks at the moment haven't you got massive camber or are the shocks slotted.

anyway..recommendations depend on your budget really and cars use

most stuffs around 400/500 a set to over 1000 a corner.

what are you planning on using the car for..

Thanks for the help so far. I think I should clear a few things up first...

I am using 172 bottom arms and 172 hubs. Basically as much of the 172 as I can fit in the car! lol. Now I have rediculous camber! lol.

A guy on Cliosport recomended going for Williams shocks as it apparently resolved his issue of stupid camber.

i think both foxy and whitely are running 172 track on there 16v's, although im not certain what shockers they run, be worth dropping a pm etc to them

they are using williams shocks with a fair bit of camber, as there is no room to fit 172 shocks as the wheel will be touching the arch

and you need to widen the williams bolt holes a few mm

also the 172 hub needs machining down to the williams width

I've done all that mate. F0xy has been a MASSIVE help. I'm literally at the stage where I just need new coilovers now.

Does nobody on here run a williams on coilovers? (preferably H&R or KW)

Adi82 uses H&R coilovers - pm him for info if need be.
