Fully 2.0 F7R engine with all bits n bobs like ECU, 261 duration AWT cams and pulleys (higher spec than piper/kent) on 26k making god knows what power... enough to beat low end Scooby's and piss the other ones off anyway...
Valver box on 35k (prolly a bit less)
Full Williams interior
Williams shell
Williams wheels (possibly in black/silver)
Group N mounts
Complete front and rear suspension, 3k or so old (not 3000 years, but miles...)
Calipers all round... again, these are about 3-6k old at ABSOLUTE most.

Am I better selling the bottom end and head and cams/pulleys seperate or get rid of the lot including gearbox???

engine will be worth around £1000 tops mate. Thats if u hang on to find the right person.

J o n
12-07-2005, 16:43
oh yes, it will be broken for parts unless somone wants to buy it whole... to fund my next project... I may just go back to standard and sell it that way, but if I were to do that it's prolly just as easy to take it apart completely...

anyway, Rob's bid is closest at the moment with 68p.

forgot to add crap like stainless exhaust in there as well, but basically the cars been in effect rebuilt with new parts and has a service history that makes the bible look like light reading... either way, I dont trust the car and my love for it has now GONE... time for a change and it needs to be soon, want aircon before summer ends...

Be a shame mate.

J o n
12-07-2005, 16:46
hmmm, £1000 for the engine... lol, i could get AT LEAST £400 for the cams mate... and low mile bottom ends go for about £500+.... I wont be selling it to a Yorkshireman anyway...

Winston, I'd have hoped the suspension was worth more with it being almost new and I have recipts for it to prove mileage as it was for MOT... springs were like £80 each from Renault, and did struts, top mounts and shockers... :? lol

only shame mate is that I stupidly carried on pooring money in and listening to people say "what else can go wrong tho?"

£400 for the cams....dont tell richy that mate.

Second hand cams, pulleys and followers go for that price.

Engines go for around £500 with box and ecu if u find a decent one.

Tis up to you mate....its worth whats someone is willing to pay.

J o n

hmmm, reckon I'd get more for the engine TBH mainly due to miles... I'd prolly sell it whole too. as regards the cams these are more expensive than Kents mate, there are build to custom specs from blanks and have more lift and I'd bet would make better improvements once setup as they aint even timed in at the moment... bigger power to be had imo

Winston
12-07-2005, 17:50
Hmmmmm.......cams would have mine running 13's

I'll have first refusel pls....cash and swap heads?

Martin

J o n
12-07-2005, 19:32

im pretty pissed up at hte moment but i think i wiill miss it yeah but ill be happier omce i have either an m3 or a gt4 import with 255 bhp :D

few simple mods like zorst, filter, chip and boost controller and it shpuld easty be 300+horsies

Zollo

My dad had a 255 brake GT4 import, with adjustable boost thingy too. Got 253bhp at a rolling road, so they don't quite put out the quoted power, considering it was running more boost. Not amazingly quick, I must say. And chucking it about, it felt easily as heavy as it was (which is rather weighty). Looked the nuts though 8) . And it had a sweet gearbox too.

Mark_Ritchspeed
13-07-2005, 09:06
Yep. What Zollo said. GT4's are not really that quick and feel a bit bloaty to drive in comparison to a hot hatch. Although still very good cars and very, very well built which must be a bonus for you.

I would prefer an Evo2 or 3, but thats just because they are so manic.

J o n
13-07-2005, 10:01
yeah looking at the figures they are only marginally quicker than a std 182Cup 60-100... which aint too clever... wonder if 300bhp would still be enough? How reliable are these cars Mark compared to the Evo and parts/servicing intervals prices compare like?

Jan
13-07-2005, 10:14
have you looked at rx-7's?

Awesome imo 8)

J o n
13-07-2005, 10:20
too expensive and the 5k+ rebuild is something I'd really be scared of... lol

at the moment it's GT4, M3 or Evo 2/3... M3 is the car I would prefer, but it may not be reliable and cheap enough to run... but having said that I cant see one being as much to run as my current car... Mark, are the non Evo M3's reasonable to run and more reliable than a Clio???

Mark_Ritchspeed
13-07-2005, 12:33
Not that I have run one myself, but the non-Evo 3 litre M3's are supposed to be very reliable and as usual Getrag gearboxes are almost completely bomb-proof. Like any heavy-ish performance car its probably going to eat through brakes and be quite tough on the suspension.

GT4's are also very reliable, but I must admit I only really like the WRC version with aftermarket alloys to fill the arches. Very good cars all round, but for me just lacking that little something for the driver.

Evos are easily the quickest point to point cars and score most points for the driver which does it for me. Although will probably be slightly higher maintenance than the other 2 but will be cheaper to buy in the first place. Oh and standard brakes are indeed shite.

hmmm, M3 or GT4 then... possibly a Scooby, although this is a car I least like to look at.

Your dads cool, is that his M3 as well??

Zollo
13-07-2005, 22:54
Yeah, he's not bad for an old un'. Good influence on me anyway :P

M3 was the replacement for the GT4. He's often heard mumbling about missing the turbo delivery, but I put this down to old age dementia

14-07-2005, 08:33
lol, that's mint! only thing really putting me off was looking at the 60-100 times... my Clio is prolly quicker than one... :? bit of a let down, but they are 1400kg's
