Well it’s been a while since the last update. I have had few events over the past couple of months with one just mising out on the top 10 O/A and a class result by 2 seconds (due to some mong holding us up on the last stage) and the other blowing the engine up by a wrong gear selection + 10k rpm and 8 belt exhaust valves.....Doh
The last event we had was at Angelsey and was my home event as Warrington and district MC were the organisers. We were seeded 15th and my good friend John was 14th in his proper trick 1600 Saxo.
The event started with dry weather and we had a steady first 2 stages but after that the rain started to come down so we went for it! For us this was great as the hp barrier was reduced and we got back upto first in class with 2 stages to go. All day we were plagued by a misfire which has been now sourced to poor wiring to the fuel pump and only getting just under 12v, pump has now been wired direct and is running spot on. Unfortunately it dried off do the 240+hp Mk2’s had the legs on us but we got our best result to date of 7 O/A and 2nd in class and my good friend John also got 2nd in class in the 1600 class.
We were 2nd fwd car but behined the Super 1600 Corsa of Dave burns by 17 seconds at the end of the day (not bad for a std Clio).... We even got mentioned in the Motoring news on the event write up.!! One for the scrap book..
There is so much more to come from the car......next event is end of Septemeber as im invited to so many bloody weddings i can nortattend the next 2 events.
Summary of the day, enjoy....
