Right!

Following several requests from different people we are now at a stage to start selling these uprated gaskets.

They are an exact copy of the OEM item and as per the uprated inlet gaskets I produce are cut using a C02 lazer bed.
They are also made from the same PTFE material which doesn't fail when in contact with oil/petrol like the standard items.
Also they aren't affecting by over vibration caused by high revving and unsilenced exhausts etc.

Due to these properties they will also be reuseable - a good wipe down to get a good clean seal again and all should be fine...

The gasket has been trialled by 16v_paddy off the forum - he has tested for leaking - both outside and inside edges and results show nothing seaping at all. Happy Days!

Heres some pictures - apologies for the poor quality - taken from a camera phone...

Now obviously I have a lot of wasted material to deal with here as it has to be made in one piece of PTFE. However costs aren't as high as initially expected (£50).

Actual cost is £35 via paypal including delivery and packaging.
If you purchase this along with a full inlet set (manifold and t.body) then I will do an all-in-one combined price of £60.

Bearing in mind you will spend probably what £20 on a standard item from Renault (or slightly less £12 plus postage from ebay) at least one more time in the ownership of your valver/williams this is evidently a cleaner, more reliable and more investable alternative.

If you would like to order one please drop me a PM so we can sort out payment and address details.

Cheers :D

do these need the little bit cutting out to fit properly like the OE ones?

Looking at it, I don't think so. I know the bit you mean.

Group buy? :D

Maybe it fits fine because the gasket it was copied from wasn't from renault, it was in the head gasket set I got from stan

As above these dont need anything cutting out... still no sales tho!! :(

You can do a group buy but the price difference wont be much as there is minimal profit margin as it is.

Price is £35 via paypal normal including postage

Willing to drop that to £34 for paypal personal including postage

Any additonal gasket purchased at one time will be postage/packaging FOC - so minus £2.

Can't do much better than that at the moment.
Everything at the moment gets more and more expensive including material! lol

on different note ,whats wrong with using liquid gasket ?
it surely will cost much less and be good as if applied correctly

cliokiz

I would guess no mess?

I'm just waiting for others to report back on fitment, performance etc before i buy.

It depends mate - you can either go for a messy liquid gasket which you could mess up and no doubt by the time comes to change the liquid gasket again the tube you bought would be no good...

So its the difference between a quality product which you can re-use and fitment is bang on correct and a lot quicker, cleaner, more accurate and more professional. Or go for cheaper and see where it takes you....

Theres always a cheaper alternative that should work - but you wouldn't buy a daewoo matiz would you lol

Fitment is spot on as already tested.

Performance in relation to no leakage is spot on as already tested.

The only other thing I can guarantee is your cam cover wont be as hot if that bothered you lol

This is not a performance modification as such - it is more a case of making a well known failing part - work.

hill_power_clio
07-07-2009, 23:40
and one other thing I guess - liquid gaskets will work - but if you aren't confident or aren't 100% on what you are doing then you aren't going to trust the product.

liquid gasket will or should work but they are messy and when you apply the x2 faces together the liquid can push in if not applied correctly resulting in bits of gasket floating around your engine / blocking up breathers, etc... not very nice!

Choices...

1) Standard Gasket which inevitably fails
2) Liquid Gasket which may not leak but may leave bits floating around in your engine lol - (thats why the liquid sump gasket is so poor)
3) An uprated standard gasket which following testing hasn't leaked, is easy to fit, is clean, is reuseable and isn't prone to wear from oil/fuel.

If you want feedback, I've bought another 1 for my new engine thats going in pretty soon, what more higher commendation could you possibly want :?: you all know I'm amazing & know my shit

They're 1mm, so ever so slightly thicker than the original gasket, if they were the same as the inlet manifold & TB gaskets they won't fit

cliokiz
08-07-2009, 10:30
How thick is a standard gasket in relation to that?

16v_paddy
08-07-2009, 10:53
Something like 0.9 mm

hill_power_clio
08-07-2009, 16:57
lol

If they were 3mm thick then not only wouldn't they fit but that would mean my material prices would have about halfed which could only be a dream come true! big gasket this is for me - a lot of wasted material

Don't want to moan but it does annoy me when lots of people PM and generally ask for something, you spend time and money making it and then nobody actually wants to dip their hand in their pocket!

hill_power_clio
27-08-2009, 18:39
I know mate but thats just how much they are with the material involved. People were aware of the price from the off but were still interested.

It is a big sheet of PTFE being used here with a lot of wasted material - not cardboard. I would say £30 for peace of mind is worth it but then I guess I would!

Best I could do is look to source just 1mm material from somewhere else but end of the day its only going to come down by a couple of quid.

Cheers though mate

Just had a PM for one sale which is great news!

It's good that people such as yourselves organise these things as they are useful and wanted, it's just that everyone's skint at the moment! lol

If you've made a batch up already and need to get some money back on them, I can only suggest ebay or Clio16valver as I'm sure you'll get sales off both :)

I do need one at some point as mine has been leaking like the titanic for ages lol but this month has ruined me - double my pay in outgoings isn't good!!

Will be in touch when I need one though :)

white16valver - thanks for your comments mate. i know its tuff times for everyone at the moment; i have already produced a batch mainly as people said prior to production that they wanted them but not to worry.

I have one sale lined up and few more in the pipeline, like your good self so I will just wait until the opportunity arises I guess. At the moment I am at a loss on these you see when only trying to do people a favour; however I'm sure I will pull it back shortly.

Again thanks for the support! lol

BTW - they are on clio16valver as well - in the depths. 16v_paddy put them on there on my behalf.

Drop me a PM when you find that pot of gold

Hi;

Currently we have limited stock of 1mm material but lots of 1.5mm so for the time being these gaskets will be produced in the thicker stuff.

Fitting and performance will remain exactly the same.

Price remains the same inclusive of first class post.
