How much oil does an engine change need?

why that much, that is only that expensive because of the make of oil your looking at using, i have just bought some fuch titan supersyn sl 5w/40(4litres) for 16.50 as recommended by opie as an option to use on my car yes i could have spent considerably more but honestly dont see the gains outweigh the expense my car has done over 127k and is total untouched(compression excellent/oil consumption very low to no existent) and from service history i see no evidence of the use of mega expensive oils i think as most know warming the engine up and getting oil temp up before any hard use goes a long way to minimising wear and tear

williams supplement states 5.75 inc filter plus an engine never completely drains of all its oil :)
