I'm in the process of making two new rear brake lines for my rear brakes, the ones that go from the load compensator to the flexi hoses. I have one of the cheap silverline flaring kits and I can't seem to get the flare straight at all.

Is there a better tool out there i can use? needs to be a non vice type as I don't have a vice.

Also the brass unions I have do not have straight ends they have an concave end. I found that when I fitted one pipe it spread the end of the union outwards.

Any help would be great.
