Gave the willys a clean this morning an thought id take her round the block for a warm up.

Everything seemed to go well until i got back......theres this "banshee" sound coming from near the cam belt end, a bit like screeching is the only way i can describe it.

On tickover nothing rev slightly it kicks in then as you progress up to three thou it goes away........any idea muchachos??? :?

Ditto, unless you got slippery soapsuds in there while washing, did you have bonnet up and clean top of wings? If that is all it is then it probably wont do it anymore.

the last screeching sound i found was my starter staying engaged
after start up as a result of fubared ignition lock spring .

other than that suck it and see really .
if it does not go away ,check cambelt
alt belt and look for tensioner ,idler pullies while running
