My engine has a mind of its own?

Hi, the car is back on the road now (pics coming soon). It idles at around 900rpm as normal but sometimes it will rev on its own from 700-1500rpm and when you are driving sometimes when you slow right down for a junction the engine will cut off, any ideas??

Dodgy speedo sensor, clean ISCV, check for air/vacuum leak. Check gearbox earth.

Speedo sensor? Are they not cable driven??

there's a sensor on the cable near the clock end

I always check that the ground cables are clean and tightly secured whenever the car feels like it's haunted. :)
