View Full Version : breaking ideas
i have come to the stage of upgrading the breaks on the hybrid.
4 pots are overkill at my sort of performance level so im looking at getting goodridge lines plus new disks and pads.
so whats a nice set up for a hybrid with 15inch wheels? and im also looking for a place to buy them from. cams and a few other upgrades are in the pipeline so i need to consider the extra power it will have. cheers, will
I loved my Mintex 1144's. My Ferodo DS2500's don't seem as good, but it could be other issues making them less effective.
Both give off more brake dust than standard though.

I'm using 4 pots on a bog standard 1.8 & wouldn't be without them now tbh
but if they're not what you want, you can't go far wrong with some decent discs, pads, fluid & braided hoses

Depending on budget do what I done, I replaced everything all round with brand new, discs, pads, calipers & hoses
for the rear, just new discs, pads & wheel bearings, any make you like as they don't really do a lot of work
front discs - from others recommendations & my own brembo max, red dot, ebc or group N, you could even go for the k-tec 285 mm conversion, also been told the 172 280mm brake setup is good - need the hubs & calipers
hoses - you can't go far wrong with goodrige items
as for pads, there's lots to choose from but I've used ebc greenstuff in my std calipers and had no issues with them
hmmm brembe max disks 1144 pads goodridge hoses and new fluid.. thats about my budget lol what suppliers did u use?

try larkspeed or rally design for the other bits, they're usually good on the price
