...Got Oulten Park coming up next Wednesday and been having a think if the willy needs anything doing prior to it...then realised the rear tires are pretty old and have slight cracks in the side walls (advisory on MOT). Should these be fine for the track day or would people suggest getting them replaced?

Currently plenty of tread left, just some cracking in the outer sidewall!

Cheers

replace imo, they are going to get very warm on track, far warmer than road use and a blow out is not what you need for the sake of 100 quid

completely agree with Coops, I've had that before and ended up with an egg in the sidewall... Camskill R888 SG's Dan, give them ago, you'll be sooooo much faster!

according to most tyre manufacturers the lifetime of rubber is 6-7 years max
check the manufacture date stamped on the side walls ,if there are cracks etc appearing on them they must be well over 9-10 years old .

you would not want to risk a blow out for the sake of couple hundred quid would you ?
