Wireing loom/ecu/ engine query

Hi,
Im preparing myself for a big job next mnth of changing the entire wiring loom when i fit in the new engine. no whats concerning me is this.

I purchased a 1.8 16v FP7 engine from one guy and a complete wireloom inc ecu from another guy, will there be a problem setting it up of is it just a case of setting it all up and off you go with a lot of swearing in between.

My mechanic just mentioned that sometime unless the ecu is from the same engine there can me problems.

any advice will be greatly appreciated

if everything is from a phase one valver then will be fine

if the loom is a phase two loom it will need a the correct phase two ecu for it to work, but will work on any engine

it will be fine..


if you have a complete loam and ecu..

it will work with any engine.

but a phase one ecu will work on any loam as theres no imboiliser.
