i'm purely workin this summer 2 save up 2 purchase my very own 16 valver, need to know ur opinions on how much u think i shuld save to get a 50k+ miles in good condition, i was hopin could pick one up for around £1500, wot u reckon?

Go for a higher mileage example IMO. They're cheaper but have also had most of the big jobs done on them like gearboxes, cambelts, clutches etc etc.

Should pay about £1500-2000 for a properly mint 16v.

cheers mate, i reckon i can stretch to about £2000 but was hoping 4 a little bit of money left over to slam it, guess i'l just hav to rape my student loan.

Buy the one with the most bills....but that could mean its been a abused lol

Save money - don't bother slamming it! It handles like a greyhound already plus you can go over speed bumps!

^^^What KJ said. I was going to lower mine but TBH I've decided it's really not worth it.

Valver prices aren't holding up well anymore mate so you should be able to get one within budget. I'd aim for finding a belter at about the £1500 mark and then save the remaining £500 as a contingency fund. You probably will need it!

You'll not regret getting one, no matter how much they cost you, the drive and experience of them are fantastic.

it gets my excited just thinking bout owning one, i'm already on my 3rd clio mark 1 but its time to get the 1.8 now i know i can get insured.

dont worry bout insurance i pay £2500 because of an imature incident las year, but the 16v is the best hatch, i had mine bout months and gearbox went (dont drive it without clutch cable), its an unbelievable drive and i reckomend it to anyone, 1500 will sort u a nice 1 gd luck :wink:

Higer milers are ok mate but only buy if it has full history and lots of reciepts. Best hatch for the money and faster than its rivals :D
