Hi guys cheers for your previous help.

My clio is bouncing off the limiter, Shorting out the ignition when it hits the top. Im thinkin this may be a fault with the coil pack and its shorting out when it hits the limiter cutting the power to the plugs?

Anyone had this problem before. Should a new coil pack fix this?

Cheers

its meant to...at what rpm..

can get it raised with a gunner chip..

Its causes the car to jerk heavily when it limits though, No ignition on the limiter at all. Surely the governer is what limits the speed by limiting the fuel. Im sure its not normal.

its cuts the ignition..there is no fuel governors on petrols in general just diesels..

it is normal..at about 6500rpm...yes.

Cheers maxi, never driven a car with such aggressive limiter if thats the case. Im seriously dropping at least 1500revs if it hits the top. all other cars ive driven dont limit like this does.

try it out of gear, see if it behaves the same

:D

I believe the limiter on the Gunnerchip is softer and higher.

What is it like if you accidently hit the rev limiter on your cars? Is it usualy this jerky?
Im still getting used to driving this car and accept that im coming accross as a bit of a noob.

I dont purposfully drive around trying to bounce it off the top but it does seem an easy thing to do by mistake with this car and im just quite suprised at how aggressive the limiter is compared to other cars.

I will probably consider getting it raised slightly at some point if i dont get better at avoiding this.

Cheers

When you get used to it a good driver won't hit the limiter! I used to do it all the time when I first got it but when you learn the 'sounds' of the car you'll never even know its there.
