Exhaust sounds awesome. I found the holes in the Magnex mid section which I will have repaired.

I had to adjust the brightness on pics as they were a bit dim.

More to follow when I am actually somewhere interesting and have finished cleaning the car!

The one I have is as follows:

Standard Willy manifold (soon to be wrapped) and willy downpipe. Unknown decat (well made though), refurbished (and rather rare I believe) Supersprint un-silenced mid-section, Ebay of win u-bend, Magnex back box. Sounds like Satan with a hangover from Hell.

They are white having been treated in high temp white paint, for looks mainly as it was a bit manky before I got it. It won't stay white for long, bookies are saying 5 minutes is odds on favourite at mo.

They look awesome to me.

On the whole wheel, paint, powder coat argument thing I simply don't give a ****. As long as they are not orange and look 90% of that standard I am happy. I would be really happy with the above wheels.

Tbh I prefer powder coating as it is more resilient I think.

Little pic of car in action with new wheels:

where did you get yours done at mate?

Wobba
17-03-2009, 23:41
The basic outlay was £276.26 which included stripping tyres, remove old paint, priming painting and diamond cut on the rims, refitting tyres and new valves.

Inc VAT £320.00

One wheel was bent, one needed a little machining.

The caps were about £4.70 each + VAT

Total Inc VAT was about £370.

After that I wanted the wheels delivered Saturday morning, which they wouldn't do for free, and I needed them, so grudgingly paid the £39.80 or so for delivery, which they've now reimbursed anyway and offered to give cut price deal if I or family need future work.

Yes, I was annoyed at the spiralling cost, but the work is very good and it's one less thing to have to do with the car and I didn't have to piss about arranging couriers, driving all over the place or worrying about quality.

do them yourself!.. theres a powder coating place in Warrington, pop there he'll media blast them and high build prime for circa 10 quid per wheel, get them home and then simply get your paint ready, prep the wheels and then if you want a nice shiny rim, just use the technique in the owners guide section and mount them to get rid of sand disc swirls or use a drill mounted flap wheel to polish up, should cost you circa 60-70 quid all in. Not that hard to be fair, and from what it appears, paying loads of money still gets the hardcore people on here shaking their heads at colour matches! haha...

Has anybody any experience with TWS in Manchester. I have been quoted £300+VAT for a full refurb including polished/machined rim, powder coated gold and lacquered. Price also includes refitting tyres, balancing and new valves.

Thats really steap imo. Should be looking at £50 p/corner at a push £60, I am sure you can get it cheaper and at no worse result.

Some companies (like Pristine) offer a spare set of wheels whilst yours are being refurbished.
