Just wondering if I can use any of those kitchen oven cleaners to degrease my engine block (doing rebuild). It's ally block so I guess sprays containing NaOH are not to be used? Also how do I remove that burned in black sediment thing from inside my block?

Cheers

fuel is the cheapest degreaser you can find really .
once the grease / oil is out the way , you can use metal brushes
on a drill to get yourself clean metal . than hammerite with the
color of your choice

I had my head dipped in the degreasing chemicals and it looks fantastic.

All grease/oil is removed and the end result is a very clean head back to shiny metal.

Cheap to do.
