What engine is in it?

Will16valver

mine? 1.5 Turbo
Zetec S is 1.6

mine is 147 bhp standard and is easy tuned to over 200
Coilover would DEFO DEFO!!! be needed if it had that power tho

On the note of fords, theyve never made a decent hot hatch in years, probably since the Escort Cossie IMO. 15 years+!!!

Theyve totally lost their way, like peugeot. Maybe the RS focus is ok, but i think this is yet to have its day!

Renault seem to be the only ones still getting it right! Or right-ish!!

:o

Can I ask how you are going to get it to over 200bhp?

Is it really worth buying a new car invalidating your warranty?

Surely that engine isn’t going to last very long at over 200bhp and its not going to be able to get the power down. After you have spent money on that and coilovers, wouldn’t it have just been easier to buy a 197 which is a pretty good car out the box?

i think it needs that oh its got 200 brake thats a suprise factor to be cool otherwise it just looks soft.

I like the Colt. There is a silver one at work and I have been admiring it a lot lately.

on another note ,that colt just looks like any other new car out there , put a renault badge on its a 197 , put a vauxhall badge on it becomes the new shape astra for me :?
what happened to uniqueness in car designing than ??

see i think it looks different to all the new cars out the now.......
and Totti, the 197 is not a good car, its utter poo! ive drove two of them and i would not give Reno the time of day!
Exhaust and remap from ECUTek puts it 205. easy :) ha

Still it may be nippy its no Valver

lol

A lot of the sameyness that we see at the moment is down to the crash regulations that have been brought in - when you have to take account of pedestrians bouncing off the bonnet you have to have a high bonnet that's miles from the engine; you also have to have side impact bars, a strong passenger cell (which certain shapes are the strongest), good rear impact strength (I think), etc etc...

btw i am not being a bitch or anything but whats the deal
with that 1.5 engine
are you paying the same tax as a valver/williams ?

white16valver

I think so - from memory it's around 1.3 that it changes.

afetr march 2001 road tax is governed by the emmisions

its a nice looking bit of kit imo, would look the bollox decked with a 3" tailpipe 8)

ex demo means ur the second owner, the garage is the first. if its been mis-sold to you take have a word with them, they'll prob throw some freebies at you!

Colt looks nice

... and a 197 is an awesome car! It's the best handling Clio period if a little fat and sluggish

Hey I actually really like them Jamie! :)

Only thing that pissed me off was when I was in was in my car on standard inlet against an RB 197 that belongs to a mate we had a do and the difference was more than expected. Basically his 4th pulled like mine did... except 4th on a 197 is like 3rd gear on a 172. Just need more power or less weight, but I'd buy one (I'd still need a proper quick clio though to stop me spending on one!)
