Just measured standard willy coil, from point to point with tape through centre of coils measures exactly 13".

dont be too hasty, 172 springs are the same as willy ones but uncompressed they are longer, its imo the poundage that needs to be correct, only real way to cheque is to fit and check ride height and feel

The ones from ECP will never be the correct ones.
Renault only.

It's 13" uncompressed. It's not new but even an old one wouldn't be 2" different. Poundage is crucial so standard williams coils from renault have 2 white marks to identify them. I think 172 have one white, one yellow. Don't know how a pattern part would be identified and would have to be significantly different to be that much longer. I will count coils tomorrow if you want, it may have more coils/smaller diameter rod. Don't know what you paid for them but Renault springs are in region of £75 each.

Coil not new, but in good condition and the ride and handling were spot on.

If your looking for used ones your better off trying to get some 172 ones as they are newer and exactly the same.

I have two springs with unknown mileage but were bought in 2004. They visibly look in mint condition but i havent personally fitted them to my car. I just bought the shocks as they were newish and were for the widtrack conversion i have done if you want them

So how much are brand new springs for the Williams from Renault?

Would it be better just buying used 172 ones?

They are about £75 + vat each.
