After the willy had its new clutch done when you turn left or right with a decent amount of lock on something vibrates/touches something else..

Anything spring to mind? I want to get it sorted before I put it up for sale - want it to be perfect for the next owner.

Cheers

just to note this wasn't there before the new clutch was put in so its something thats to do with moving/undoing for the clutch...

under 30-40 mph its non evident its more when going round a roundabout at a fair lick :D

I'd check the engine mounts, especially gearbox one. Check the left front wheel for play too in case something is amiss there. Your bearings okay? Could be something unrelated where things have shifted a bit during the clutch removal.

I'd be suprised if its the mounts unless they've been messed with - they're not that old..

can't be doing anything for next few days I reckon - can't even see the car for the snow!

I don't want to sound dumb but how the hell can swapping a clutch for another one cause at a certain engine speed a vibration?

The logical conclusion is that something has not been put back right!

I don't know is it just me? thats like getting 4 new tyres fitted and your back bumper falls off - thats just what happens when you put new tyres on mate says the garage owner :D

if the clutch is slightly off centre then it will vibrate daz.

Well he's having it back till its rectified - I'm getting pissed off with that garage now - won't be using him again - its gone downhill since they fired Ronnie (ex renault mechanic) he did all my work and since he went they've been slow and I've usually had to go back to get it refixed.

Pissed off because its put me back on time to sell the williams while still insured, don't want to be taking people out in it without it on test drives!

does the column catch anywhere such as downpipe, also if a clutch wasoff centre surely the input shaft wouldnt go through it.

This is my thinking because when you 'play' with the steering you alter the vibration - he also said this had been removed as the last cable had been tighten on it!

How did they change the clutch? Did they remove the engine?

My guess would be downpipe heatsheild touching subframe or touching lower gearbox stabiliser bolts.
